Samuel William Bloom, Professor Emeritus of Sociology at the Graduate Center, City University of New York, and Professor of Community and Preventive Medicine, Mount Sinai Medical Center, was a founding member of the Medical Sociology Section of the American Sociological Association and served as its chairman from 1964-1965.
